 Personality: Not overly expressive and fairly passive to a point, very motherly with Rose but can act a bit motherly with her subjects as well, especially the younger ones. Very kind and sweet, rarely ever get's angry.

History: Long ago, she was the ruler of the Crystal Empire. She was fair and just, and her subjects loved her. There was unending peace during this time, so they didn't have much in the sense of military. They would enjoy Jousting Tournaments where even the Empress herself would participate in, as well as Ice Archery competitions.

One day, she fell in love with a dashing young stallion named Obsidian Rune. They both had an instant connection, and got married soon after. Eventually, they had a daughter together and their lives couldn't be happier. However, things took a turn for the worse, when one day while he had gone on a trip, something had drastically changed him. Not only in appearance, but personality as well. Instead of the noble, courageous pony she had married, what had returned before Empress Phenacite was something cold and malicious. He demanded that she hand over the throne and the Crystal Heart, the source of the empire's power. She tried to reason with him, but he immediately began attacking her when she didn't comply. She told her daughter to run and hide while she tried to protect the Crystal Heart, and instantly teleported to it. She began casting a spell that would protect the heart from any evil spell or force. But it was taking too long, and the newly dubbed 'King Sombra' had appeared as well and cast a spell at the heart. During all this, Rose had ignored her mother's warning and followed them, and rushed to her mother's side. Both of the spells had combined and mutated, causing it to bounce back and hit both of them before the heart had vanished. When it hit Sombra, it cursed him as he became an ethereal presence, nothing more than an evil spirit, and banishing him elsewhere. When it hit Phenacite, her body became a dark teal color being drained from her hair, sapping her of most of her magic resulting her in becoming a unicorn filly, and sending her a thousand years into the future. She later becomes Cobalt Aura, and lives with Magic Miracle and Soaring Grace.


I am SOOOOOOOOO happy with how this came out! *0* Been wanting to finish this for a while, and had it finished last night, but I realized I needed to design Rose Quartz first (you'll see why in her bio)

I know people tend to frown at Alicorn OC's, but I thought this would be a really cool backstory and I wanted to do it for so long now. So if you have a problem, you can suck it up because it's my oc, not yours.

Also, I decided this is how I will draw Crystal Ponies from now on, with actual crystals growing from places on their bodies :3 Still undecided if I should add to the wings or not, maybe just the base where it connects to the body
